N. Paul Cryer, General Contractor and head of Ananda Design & Construction, offers over 30 years experience in design and construction of residential, commercial and sacred structures. He attended University of Illinois College of Architecture, and in 1970 moved to Ananda Village near Nevada City, CA where he created, built and operated an organic dairy that served the residents of this utopian spiritual community.
He returned to the east coast for several years to study architecture and work as an estimator, project manager and architectural manager for Meridian Construction in Washington, D.C., where clients included large projects for National Car Rental; Dulles International Airport; and HUD Scattered Site Housing, to name a few.
He then founded his own company, N. Paul Cryer & Co. in McLean, Virginia, offering complete design & construction services for such clients as National Car Rental; Avis and Dollar Car Rental. In 1989 he returned to California to work with the Ananda Builders Guild as both a project manager and estimator for apartment renovations; office park design & construction and various residential projects, and since 1996 has been owner of the Ananda Builders Guild, now called Ananda Design & Construction.
Over the years, Paul has been project manager for a variety of construction and remodel projects including small and large homes; commercial buildings, retail stores, and offices. In addition, he has focused on creating and building sacred structures including temples; shrines, museums and churches for various spiritual groups and endeavors. J.T. Heater, architect for Ananda Design & Construction, joined our offices in 1996 as Senior Architect. Previously, he worked for large architectural firms in Wisconsin and Texas designing single-family residences, and as Project Architect for retail facilities; restaurants; art galleries; renovations; medical clinics; churches; offices; condominiums; service facilities and master planning. J.T. holds both a B.S. and M.A. in Architecture from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Over the years, J.T. has served as architect and designer for a wide variety of projects, from small, energy-efficient homes and cabins to 5,000-square foot homes and estates; for retreat facilities; commercial projects and more. He has also focused on creating designs for sacred structures including temples, shrines and churches.
For both residential and commercial clients, he is adept at working with environmentally-conscious needs, and alternative cultural design modalities including Vastu, Feng-Shui, and others. Contact by email jtheat@anandaconstruction.com
